ExxonMobil targets more oil from Cepu during early production

Cepu Mobil Limited, a subsidiary of American energy giant ExxonMobil Corp, which operates the Cepu block in Central and East Java provinces, has targeted to produce more oil than initial target from the block in first production.

?We shall do our outmost (to produce more oil in first production) based on the exiting capacity,? Asep Sulaiman, Senior VP for Exploration & External Relations at ExxonMobil Indonesia, told Petromindo.com.

He did not provide the above-initial target production figures but earlier it was reported that the Cepu block would start oil production in May 2014 with an initial volume of 90,000 barrels per day (bpd). The output will be gradually ramped to 150,000 bpd in August and 185,000 bpd in November the same year, R. Priyono, Head of upstream authority BPMIGAS, said last month.

Asep said the fabrication process of the FSO that will store the oil output is in progress in Singapore and is expected to be completed on schedule.
