?We are hoping to be able to resume gas operations in Cluster 3 and Cluster 4 sometimes in early September,? said Effendi Situmorang, Pertamina?s director of production sharing management on a sideline of a seminar in Jakarta.
ExxonMobil Oil Indonesia (EMOI), a unit of US oil giant ExxonMobil Corp resumed partial gas operations in Cluster 1 and Cluster 2 in July after the company suspended operations for more than three months due to security reasons.
Meanwhile, Julia Tumengkol, EMOI's spokesperson said that she could not confirm on the plan as EMOI was still operating on day-to-day basis.
Julia said current gas production from Cluster 1 and 2 and North Sumatra Offshore gas fields was currently stood at 700 million standard cubic feet per day (MMCFD, less than 50 percent of EMOI's normal full production capacity.
Earlier, Pertamina?s downstream director Muchsin Bahar said that for September, PT Arun Natural Gas Liquefaction (NGL), whose natural gas supply fully depends from EMOI, would be able to produce four cargoes of LNG.
Effendi further said until all commitments to LNG buyers are met, there would be no natural gas supply to fertilizer plants and paper mill in Aceh. (alex/godang)
