ExxonMobil to start drilling in Cepu next month

American energy giant ExxonMobil Corp. and state owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina will start drilling activities at the Cepu field in the border areas of Central Java and East Java next month.
“We have moved rig for drilling at Banyu Urip well. Base camp has been on the location. We’ll start drilling in July for two wells, A3 and A4,” ExxonMobil Oil ’s vice president Maman Budiman said on Thursday.
The company was also preparing lands for site facilities and pipeline road, Maman said.
The Cepu block has estimated oil reserves of about 600 million barrels spread over several wells, including Banyu Urip, the largest well with an estimated reserve of 350 million barrels. (Godang)
