ExxonMobil, Total propose oil, gas study in RI-PNG border area

ExxonMobil Indonesia and Total E&P Indonesie have separately proposed to the Director General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources to carry out oil and gas joint study in the country?s border area with Papua New Guinea (PNG).

The proposals for the joint study were made following PNG?s successful efforts in finding oil and gas reserves in its border area with Indonesia. ?ExxonMobil Indonesia and Total Indonesie want to study oil and gas potential in the Indonesia-PNG border area following oil discovery in the PNG?s side of the border,? an official at the ministry told Petromnido.com on Monday.

He added that the companies have submitted separate proposal for joint study in Papua Province bordering with PNG.
