The recording equipment placed by PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara at the backyard of its office in the West Nusa Tenggara provincial capital of Mataram managed to record the face of the person suspected of throwing an explosive to the office Monday morning, a report said.
DetikCom online news agency quoted the local police as saying that the recording equipment showed the person carrying a black case and hastily throwing the explosive to the office.
The police was waiting for an equipment from Jakarta, which is able to give a clear picture of the person, the news agency said.
The police has also investigated seven security guards who were on duty when the bomb explosion occurred around 4.35 a.m.
West Nusa Tenggara police chief Brig. Gen. Jonny Yodjana accused the guards of neglecting their jobs.
"They were sleeping at works," Jonny said.
The police investigation thus far indicated that the explosive was made of a Sprite softdrink bottle filled with urea fertilizer. A forensic team from the Bali police is expected to arrive today in Mataram to further examine the explosive.
The same office was also hit by a bomb blast in October. But, as in the Monday incident, the explosion caused no casualties. (Bodega)
