Fatalities in Freeport?s underground mine accident rise to 11

PT Freeport Indonesia emergency response team brought out another three bodies out of the rubbles at the Big Gossan mine in Papua, increasing the number of fatalities in last week?s underground mine tunnel collapse to 11.

The company said in an update statement issued Sunday that the team was still searching for 17 others believed to be still under the rubbles.

An underground training facility collapsed on May 15 at the Big Gossan mine. Out of the 38 workers trapped, 10 managed to escape.
