Fatality at IndoMet coal project

Australian Resources giant BHP Billiton said that an employee of a contractor working on the IndoMet Coal (IMC) project was fatally injured at the project?s construction area in Central Kalimantan on 21 January, 2013.

Operations at the site were immediately stopped and a full investigation is underway, the company said in a statement.

?Our immediate thoughts and condolences are with the family, friends and colleagues of the deceased person,? said the firm, which owns 75 percent of IMC.

According to the company?s website, IMC holds metallurgical and energy coal deposits in seven coal contracts of work (CCoWs) located in Kalimantan.
