Federal?s Indonesian unit bags $65.5m works from Pertamina EP

Singapore Exchange-listed services company Federal International (2000) Ltd announced Thursday that its Indonesian unit PT.Geo Link Nusantara has recently inked a US$65.5 million with PT Pertamina EP, a subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina, to carry out onshore oil and gas drilling and exploration works for seven oil wells located in PT. Pertamina EP?s Oil & Gas Field Block, Region Jawa II, in West Jawa.

Each well is approximately 2,800 meter deep and the smallest proximity between any two wells is about 10 km, the company said.

The Project, which comprises mainly construction of wells and well-testing, will commence in November 2008 over a contractual period of 30 months. Chartering of the 1,200 HP land drilling rig will commence when spudding of the first well starts in early November 2008, it said.(alex)
