Federal says coal mining ops disrupted by flooding

Singapore Exchange-listed firm Federal Int (2000) Ltd reported on Thursday that its Indonesian coal operations was disrupted by wet weather which resulted in flooding during the second quarter of 2010.
The disruption, said the Company, resulted in delays on the production and deliveries of coal. Consequential to the delays experienced, the sales of coal was affected, it added without giving detail.
Federal had expanded into the coal mining business in Indonesia in early 2008, following the incorporation of AIR and its wholly-owned subsidiary, PT Alton International Resources (PT AIR). PT AIR operates a coal mine in Indonesia under exclusive mining contract and offtake scheme, but the company did not give detail about the mine?s location. (alex)
