Front-end engineering and design (FEED) work for the floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel to be used for the development of the Ande Ande Lumut (AAL) oil field in the North West Natuna PSC in the Natuna Sea operated by Santos Northwest Natuna BV, a subsidiary of ASX-listed Santos Ltd, is near completion.

President and General Manager of Santos Marjolijn Wajong told Petromindo.com that the FEED which is being made by KBR and local partner Singgar Mulia has now reached approximately 80 percent of completion.

"Hopefully the FEED will be completed by the end of this year, because we also have done the pre-FEED work before," she said.

The company has also started the pre-qualification stage for the lease of the floater, ?and about 40 companies have entered the PQ stage," said Wajong.

Meanwhile, Bumi Armada, Bluewater, SapuraKencana and M3nergy have expressed interest in supplying the leased FPSO for AAL, according to a source. The source said Petronas? subsidiary MISC is also considering the FPSO tender, while Singapore?s EMAS is in talks with two Indonesia companies with a focus on providing project management and operational expertise.

Wajong said the FPSO tender is expected to be launched in February 2015.
