East Kalimantan fertilizer maker PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (PKT) said on Wednesday that it was in coal supply talks with coal producers to supply coal for its planned coal-fired boiler.
Production Director Suhardi Rachman told Petromindo.Com on Wednesday that PKT is in talks with PT Kaltim Prima Coal (KPC), PT Indominco Mandiri and PT Adaro Indonesia. ?We are now finalizing the contract,? he said.
According to Suhardi, the boiler would require coal supply of 700,000 tonnes per annum and would be completed in late 2011.
The boiler would cost the company US$110 million and will supply 440 tons of high pressure steam per hour to the plant and would reduce gas consumption equivalent to 27MMCFD, he said. (denny)
