Fertilizer maker to consume 500ktpa of low CV coal

East Kalimantan fertilizer maker PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (PKT) plans to build a coal-fired boiler for fertilizer making process to replace gas-fired boiler as gas supply for the firm is anticipated to decrease.

PKT President Director Hidayat Nyak Man said that the boiler, which will complete construction in 20 months, will produce 2x220T of steam per hour.

Another PKT official told Petromindo.Com that the boiler will consume 500,000 tonnes per annum of low CV coal.

The official said that thus far, PKT has yet clinched coal supply deal with any of East Kalimantan coal producer.(denny)
