FID for Arun revitalization project approved

The board of commissioners and directors of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina have approved the final investment decision (FID) for the Arun LNG plant revitalization project including for the construction of a 350-km pipeline linking Arun in Aceh and Belawan in neighboring North Sumatra.

The EPC work at the project has just started and so far has covered about 4 percent of the target, Salis Aprilian, Senior Vice President at the Gas Directorate of Pertamina, told Petromindo.com Monday.

?The progress (of the revitalization project) is that the EPC work has started after the approval of the FID on February 15 by the board of commissioners and directors of Pertamina,? he said.

Meanwhile, Vice President for LNG Project at Pertamina, Daniel Purba said that the Arun revitalization project was targeted to be on stream in the fourth quarter of 2014.
