FID for Tangguh Train III project expected in 2016

BP Indonesia, the operator of the Tangguh LNG project in West Papua, is expected to make the final investment decision (FID) for the expansion project, known as Tangguh Train III, in 2016.

?We will complete the FID for the Train 3 facility in 2016, followed by 3.5 ? 4 years of construction,? the company?s Deputy Vice President of Communications and External Affairs, Ayana McIntosh-Lee told Petromindo.com.

Meanwhile, Dharmawan Samsu, BP Indonesia Head of Country added that currently the company is still conducting the front end engineering and design (FEED) works for Tangguh Train 3 which are carried out by two consortia.

The first consortium comprises PT. Tripatra Engineers and Constructors, PT. Tripatra Engineering, PT. Chiyoda International Indonesia, PT. Saipem Indonesia, PT. Suluh Ardhi Engineering and Chiyoda Corporation Consortium.

The second consortium consists of PT. Rekayasa Industri, JGC Corporation, PT. KBR Indonesia and PT. JGC Indonesia Consortium.

?The FEED is expected to be completed in the end of this year,? Dharmawan said.

Meanwhile, the financing scheme for the development of Train 3 using by Trustee Borrowing Scheme (TBS) is also being discussed, he said without giving further details.
