Financial close of PLTB Samas expected next month

Financial close of the 50 MW wind power plant (PLTB) project in Samas, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Province, is expected to be reached next month, according to a senior official at state-owned electricity firm PT PLN.

?Initially, the deadline for the financial close of the PLTB Samas project was set in May of last year, but we extended it to May 4, 2017,? said Nasri Sebayang, PLN Business Director for central part of Java region to Petromindo.com on Tuesday.

He said that the power plant will have 25 wind turbines, each with capacity to produce 2 MW of power. Investment cost of the project is estimated at Rp 2 trillion.

PT UPC Yogyakarta Bayu Energi, a joint venture between PT UPC Renewables Indonesia PT Binatek Energi Terbarukan, is developing the project, which is targeted to be completed in 2018. The company signed a power purchase agreement with PLN in May of 2015.
