Finders begins work on demonstration plant restart at Wetar Island project

ASX-listed Finders Resources Ltd announced that the earthmoving equipment required for the upgrade and restart of the company?s demonstration plant at the Wetar Island copper cathode project in Maluku Province has been mobilized to site and commenced work.

The company said in a statement received Wednesday the equipment is being supplied and operated by PT Madhani Talatah Nusantara, an established Indonesian mining contractor.

The demonstration plant restart and upgrade will include clearing the existing heaps and mining and stacking 140,000 tons of ores, as well as increasing the capacity of the existing plant to 3,000 t.p.a. Finders expects to produce cathode copper before the end of 2013 from its existing inventory. Production from the fresh heaps is expected to commence in the March quarter 2014.
