Finland firm awarded engineering contract for Banten power plant

Finland firm P?yry PLC announced on Friday it has received an assignment by PT Merak Energi Indonesia to provide owner's engineering services during the execution of a 2 x 60 MW coal-fired power plant project in Serang, Banten province.

P?yry's assignment includes engineering design review, construction supervision and coordination of commissioning services. The value of the assignment is approximately EUR 1.3 million, the company said.

According to the company, PT Merak will build the new power plant to provide power and process steam to PT SulfindoAdiusaha, a leading chemicals producer in Indonesia. The new power plant uses circulating fluidized bed combustion technology.
