Fire catches TotalFinaElf?s E. Kalimantan well

State oil and gas firm pertamina said Tunu E-5 development well in Mahakam production sharing contract (PSC), East Kalimantan operated by French energy giant TotalFinaElf caught fire at 6.00 PM Friday after gas blowout occurred.
?The rig also caught fire, but there?s no victim. Fire extinguishing team is trying to put off the fire,? said Siddick Nitikusumah, Pertamina?s senior official told petromindo.com Friday.
It was not clear which the rig belongs to.
Siddick said the fire did not affect gas production from Tunu field did not affected by the fire.
TotalFinaElf E&P Indonesie together with its Japan partner Inpex is currently drilling wells to develop Tunu Phase-8 giant gas field. (godang)
