Fire Energy to build solar projects in Indonesia

Fire Energy Group of China and its Indonesian partner have planned to develop solar power plants with a total generation capacity of 10 megawatt (MW) in Indonesia.
The Chinese firm?s President Director and CEO Liu Jiayong and a representative of the Indonesian company have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the power plant development plan.
The company said in a press statement on Monday that Indonesian Ambassador to China, Imron Cotan, attended the signing ceremony of the MoU. But it did not give any further details on the plan and the name of the Indonesian partner.
As the world's leading PV distributor and system integrator, Fire Energy Group has strong logistics distribution and system development capabilities in Europe and America.
In addition, emerging markets such as Southeast Asia, South Asia and Africa have been the recent focus of the company.
Indonesia, which is abundant with solar resource, is accelerating the development of solar power plants, and will raise US$683 million within three years to build new solar power plants with a total power output of up to 180,000 kilowatts.
Moreover, PLN has planned to build solar power plants in Seribu islands within the next 5 years. The construction will be conducted in two stages, with the first stage started in 2011-2012 and the second one in 2013-2015.
