The injured persons are in critical condition. They are undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the General Hospital in Sawahlunto.
All the victims were rushed to the hospital just after the accident at their work place. Sawahlunto Police Unit chief Adjutant to Senior Commissioner Priyono Widyanto has confirmed that there was a fire accident.
Meanwhile, Sawahlunto regent Darius Apan said that he is still checking with the authorities at the site
?If it (fire accident) really happened at Bukit Bual, it means it?s an illegal mine. The regency administration never gave any license at that location,? Darius said. (*)
