?The fuel distribution from the depot has returned to normal,? Pertamina?s Vice President for Corporate Communications Basuki Trikora Putra said in Jakarta on Monday.
He said that the fire which broke out at one of storage tankers in the Ampenan fuel depot at about 11 o?clock in the morning on Monday could be extinguished only in 50 minutes. ?The fire occurred when the tanker was still in drying process,? he added. No fatalities were reported in the incident.
Basuki said that the existing fuel stocks in the depot which provides fuel supply for Lombok island are enough for at least a week. The stock for Premium gasoline can last for seven days, diesel oil for six days, diesel oil three days and aviation fuel (avtur) 14 days.
The fire in the Ampenan depot occurred only two days after Pertamina?s fuel refinery in Balikpapan caught a fire on Saturday. (*)
