Firms linked to Malaysian tycoon win Indonesian exploration blocks

Two little-known Malaysian-controlled companies _ Zodan NV and Zudavi NV _ linked to tycoon Ananda Krishnan is reported to have won Popodi and Papalang exploration blocks in Makassar strait along with several oil companies such as BP Plc, Conoco and Amerada Hess, OPECNEWS.Com reported Monday.
Zodan and Zudavi are newcomers in the Indonesian and international oil scene.
Zodan won the contract to search for oil and gas in the 5,420 sq km Popodi block, and Zudavi the 4,200 sq km Papalang block, both off the east coast of Kalimantan in the Makassar Strait, an industry source quoted by OPECNEWS.Com as saying.
The two companies are registered in the Netherlands.
Their holding company is Excorp Holdings Ltd, which is linked to Usaha Tegas Sdn Bhd, a company controlled by Ananda. (*)
