First gas from Block A?s Alur Rambong anticipated in 2017

First gas from Alur Rambong gas field within the Block A production sharing contract (PSC) in Aceh is anticipated in 2017, according to a Thursday presentation material of SGX-listed KrisEnergy Ltd, which has recently acquired a 41.6666 percent interest in the PSC.

PT Medco E&P Malaka is the operator of the PSC with a 41.6667 percent working interest, while Japex Block A Ltd holds the remaining 16.6667 percent.

KrisEnergy announced in July it would acquire the entire interest of Premier Oil Overseas B.V. in the Block A PSC, which is located onshore Sumatra in the semi-autonomous region of Aceh, covering an area of 1,867 sq km and contains several gas condensate discoveries including the Alur Rambong, Alur Siwah and Julu Rayeu fields, which were approved for development in 2007.
