First oil flows from Brantas PSC

Upstream oil and gas authority BPMIGAS said Thursday that Lapindo Brantas? Tanggul Angin oil field in East Java had commenced first production with the rate of 600 barrels per day.
Deputy chairman Trijana Kartoatmodjo said that the field?s production would ramp up to 1,000 BPD shortly. Oil production from tanggul Angin would be transported by tanker trucks to be stored to nearby PetroChina-operated Tuban JOB.
The field is the first oil field inBrantas PSC which is one of East Java?s significant gas producers. Lapindo Brantas, the operator of Brantas PSC and 50 percent interest holder, is a unit of JSX-listed oil firm PT. Energi Mega Persada. Another JSX-listed oil company Medco Energi holds 32 percent interest in the block and the remaining balance is held by Australian oil producer Santos Limited. (godang/alex)
