First unit of Asam-Asam power plant out of service

The operation of the first unit of the 2 x 65-megawatt Asam Asam coal-fired power plant in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan has been temporarily stopped since Friday due to a technical problem, Antara news agency reported.
Anggraini, the spokesman for the state electricity company PT Perushaan Listrik Negara's (PLN) office in Banjarmasin, said technicians were repairing the power unit.
The stoppage caused a shortage of power supply for most parts of South Kalimantan.(*)
