At least five national companies have expressed their interest to join a tender to build a pipeline project linking Cirebon, Semarang and Gresik that will be launched by BPH Migas this month, Investor Daily reported on Tuesday.
Sources told the daily that the five companies included PT Perusahaan Gas Negara, a consortium of PT Kereta Api and PT Rekayasa, Pertamina, and one of the subsidiaries of the Bakrie Group.
Tubagus Haryono, the chairman of the government's agency in charge of oil and gas downstream industry, BPH Migas, confirmed that a number of companies had expressed their interest to join the tender but he refused to unveil their names.
"Any company can take part in the tender as long as they operate under the Indonesian law. Foreign companies can take part in the project as partners or financial providers," he said.
According to him, the tender committee has established a preparatory team that will have the task to determine the segments of the pipeline project which would be auctioned. (*)
