Five companies eye Exxon?s assets in Aceh

Five companies have passed the pre-qualification of a tender for the acquisition of assets on Block B Arun, North Sumatera Offshore block and Satellite fields in Arun in Aceh province belonging to ExxonMobil Indonesia.
PT Medco Energi Internasional, PT Samudra Energi, PT Pertamina, a consortium of PT Intera Arun Energi and PT Ratu Prabu Energi, as well as a consortium of Triangle Energy and PT Bluesky Langsa have reportedly been cleared to join the next stage of the tender, which includes a bidding on price.
?We can confirm that PT Intera Arun Ernergi and PT Ratu Prabu Energi have been cleared to go to the next stage,? President Director of PT Intera Arun Energi Maman Budiman told Petromindo.com.
President Director of Medco Lukman Mahfoedz refused to comment. ?You better ask ExxonMobil. I?m sorry, but we cannot give a statement on this,? Lukman told Petromindo.com.
According to a source, Pertamina has indeed been declared eligible for the next phase of the tender, but the state-owned oil and gas firm pulled out. Upstream Director of Pertamina M. Husein did not comment.
ExxonMobil Indonesia may announce the winner in early March.
