Five foreign firms to compete for PLN?s CNG transport project

Five overseas firms have passed the pre-qualification process to participate in the upcoming compressed natural gas (CNG) marine transport tender held by state-owned electricity firm PLN.

The five firms, which come from the US, Japan, South Korea, and China, are expected to get the bidding document next week, Head of Fuel and Gas at PLN, Suryadi Mardjoeki.told Petromindo.com Friday.

?There are five companies which have passed the pre-qualification, and hopefully they will get the tender document next week,? he said. He declined to disclose the names of the companies.

The tender winner is expected to transport between three and six million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) of CNG from the Terang Sirasun Batur field off East Java to a PLN power plant in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara starting from 2014, reports said earlier.
