Five miners may bid to supply coal to Asam-Asam

Five miners including Banpu?s unit PT Jorong Barutama Greston and PT Bumi Resources? unit PT Arutmin Indonesia have obtained bid documents to supply 300,000 tonnes per annum of low CV coal to PLN?s Asam-Asam 2x65MW power plant South Kalimantan.
A PLN official said on Tuesday that the other three miners that obtained the documents were smaller coal mining concession holder.
The official, who declined to be named said winner?s announcement will be made one week after bid submission close of September 8, 2009.
The winner will supply 25,000 tonnes of 4,200 kcal/kg (AR) coal to Asam-Asam for three years.
The official said PLN would pay maximum price of US$20 per tonne for the low CV coal. (denny)
