The local government of South Sumatera province through the local mining office has revoked operational licenses of five mining companies in the province for their failure to carry out their operations properly.
Sriwijaya Pos reported on Friday that the five companies - PT Limital Asia, PT Gamidhana, PT Momer Sagala Sakti, PT Triyasa Buaria Tangguh and PT Ny Rosmina --- mostly lost their permits because they did not use their concession areas as stipulated in the contracts. "Some of them have even yet to start their mining activities," an official from the mining office said.
The five companies were licensed to prospect the C-class mining products such as sand, granite and limestone. (*)
