Flame bags 1-year contract with East Kalimantan coal miner

East Kalimantan coal miner PT Rantau Panjang Utama Bhakti (RTUB) will start coal commercial production this month with initial output 50,000 tonnes per month of coal, the company?s senior official said.

?At the present, the mine is starting coal getting (activities),? the official said.

The mine which is located in Berau regency has bagged coal supply deal with international trader Flame under 1-year contract, effective this month, the official told Petromindo.Com last week. RTUB will supply Flame with 80,000 tonnes of coal per month, the official said.

RTUB is coal unit of Indonesian firm PT Syahid Indah Utama (SIU).

SIU has another three coal mines in Berau regency, which are under exploration stage and expected to start coal production within next 6 months, the official said.

Once it starts production, the coal will deliver through 9-kilometer from the mine to jetty port in Segah river. The jetty port can handle barge with a capacity of 270-feet, the official added. (denny)
