The flood which hit PLGTU Muara Karang in North Jakarta on Monday did not affect the combined cycle power plant?s operations, PLN?s president director Dahlan Iskan said

?The flood did not affect the power plant?s operation,? he was quoted as saying by detik.com.

The flood occurred on Monday when a seawater dam built for the re-powering project of the power plant burst, inundating the plant?s complex. The deluge also affected the residential areas located near the power plant.

The re-powering project is currently built by Japanese giant Mitsubishi Corp and IDX-listed firm PT Truba Alam Manunggal Engineering.

?The power supply from the power plant is safe because important facilities are located upstairs,? PLN's general manager for the Jakarta power operation Purnomo Willy said. (*)
