Forest permits for three geothermal firms to be issued

The Ministry of Forestry is expected to soon issue permits for three companies to convert forest areas for geothermal development, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Thursday.
Secretary General of the Ministry of Forestry Hadi Daryanto said that the permits will already be issued within the next three months.
The permits will be given to among others PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy for the conversion of forest areas in East Java, and PT Sokoria Geothermal Indonesia for the conversion of areas in the Kelimutu National Park.
Hadi did not disclose the name of the third company. (*)
