Former Ministry?s executive detained on corruption allegation

Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) detained Thursday Jacobus Purnomo, former Director General of electricity and energy utilization at the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry, on corruption charges.
KPK said the alleged corruption practice related to the procurement and installation of solar home system at the Ministry which used state funds of 2007 and 2008 fiscal years. According to KPK, the alleged misappropriation cost the state up to Rp 144 billion in losses.
Johan Budi SP, KPK spokesperson, said that the detention was necessary for investigation and litigation purposes.(*)
