The Attorney General?s Office (AGO) has put Tabrani Ismail, a former operations director of state-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina, on its wanted list Friday for evading arrest, The Jakarta Post reported Saturday
He was found guilty of taking the money from an export-oriented production project in Balongan, West Java.
Tabrani was sentenced on April 26 to six years imprisonment and paid a Rp 30 million (US$3,260) fine, and was ordered to relinquish US$189.5 million in state funds he embezzled.
Tabrani?s detention was delayed at the time of his verdict and he has failed to report his whereabouts. Prosecutors summoned him earlier this month.
?We are checking on reports that he is being hidden by his relatives. We need proof,? said Hendarman Supandji, deputy attorney general on special crime affairs, as quoted by the detikcom news portal. (*)
