Four companies bidding for distributing subsidized fuel in 2012

The head of downstream oil and gas regulator BPHMIGAS, Tubagus Haryono said there are four oil and gas companies that have expressed interest to take part in a public service obligation (PSO) tender, which will distribute subsidized fuel to customers in 2012 for areas outside of Java and Bali.
The distribution of subsidized fuel in Java-Bali area will remain in the hands of state oil and gas company PT Pertamina.
The four companies are state owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina, PT Aneka Kimia Raya, PT Surya Parna Niaga (a subsidiary of PT Parna Jaya), and Malaysia?s Petronas.
?Shell has pulled out from the bidding process as it views the project is not economically viable since Java-Bali area is not included,? Tubagus told reporters on Thursday.
Tubagus said his office expects to receive bidding documents from the four companies on Monday next week. He added the winner will be announced in October. (godang/roffie)
