Four gold miners killed in W. Java landslide incident

Four traditional gold miners in Tasikmalaya, West Java, were killed Tuesday during a landslide incident, a local official said.
Sumarno, a staff at emergency unit of the Tasikmalaya Disaster Management and Mitigation Agency, told Petromindo.com that the incident took place at about 10 AM.
Eight miners were working 56 meters underground at a local traditional gold mine, which not been mined for more than 10 years. Four were trapped and killed, while four others managed to survive, he said.
The official said that the district administration has repeatedly warned the miners to stop mining in the area as the mine is considered to be not safe.
