Four Indonesian and foreign investors have planned to carry out surveys to discover gold, coal and oil in Bengkulu province, Koran tempo daily reported on Wednesday.
The Indonesian investors are PT Panca Mineral Tama, PT Petromin Resources and PT Rekayasa Industri, the paper quoted as saying Bengkulu governor Hasan Zen. The paper did not mention the name of the foreign investor, however.
Hasan did not say when the investors would start conducting surveys in Bengkulu. He only said that they were making preparations for the work.
He estimated that Bengkulu had quite big reserves of gold notably in Rejang Lebong, South Bengkulu and North Bengkulu regencies.
Several gold miners have carried out gold mining activities in Bengkulu, the governor said. (*)
