Four workers killed at Banpu?s coal mine

Four workers were killed in an accident in Banpu?s Trubaindo coalmine in East Kalimantan last week, a government official said.

The official with Mines and Energy Sugiarto told Petromindo.Com that workers of PT. Bukit Makmur were ran over by a mining truck. PT.Bukit Makmur is Trubaindo?s mining contractor.

Sugiarto said the government is currently investigating the case but said that the accident did not cause production stoppage. Official from Banpu Indonesia is not available for comment.

Trubaindo commenced production early this year and is targeted to produce 2 million tones of coal in 2005. (godang)
