Four workers killed in mine collapse

Four workers were killed when a traditional coal mine collapsed in Jalan Kodeco 20 KM in Simpang Empat subdistrict, Tanah Bambu regency, East Kalimantan, Kompas reported on Friday.
The local police said that the four men were still working on an underground mine located near the mining concession of major coal mining firm Arutmin when the mine collapsed and buried them on Wednesday.
The four men identified as Anas (43), Tumidi (40), Sis Sugianto (43) and Haryono (35) were part of the workers hired by a traditional miner to take out coal from a small underground mine using traditional equipment.(*)
