The construction of the Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) facility for Bukit Tua field project in Ketapang block offshore Madura island, East Java has been completed.

The FPSO was inaugurated at Keppel shipyard in Singapore on Tuesday, during which the vessel was also given the name Ratu Nusantara said upstream authority SKK Migas said in a statement.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by among others SKK Migas?s interim Chairman J. Widjonarko, Malaysia?s Sabah State top leader YAB Datuk Seri Panglima Musa Haji Aman and Petronas Carigali Indonesia?s Country Chairman Hazli Sham B Kassim.

The FPSO has a length of 233 meters, a width of 43 meters wide, a height of 20 meters.

The FPSO would become a key facility for the Bukit Tua field, which is projected to come into production in April 2015, Widjonarko said, adding the project as a whole has been 65 percent completed.

In the beginning, it will produce 5,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd) and 20 mmscfd of gas. The output will gradually increase to peak at 20,000 bopd and 60 mmscfd.

The gas will sold domestically through PT Petrogas Jatim Utama to the power plant in Gresik, East Java. On Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, the Ketapang PSC holder and Petrogas signed an amendment to their gas sales and purchasing agreement., under which the government will receive a revenue totaling $105 million, according to Widjonarko.

Ratu Nusantara is capable of processing 25,000 bopd, 77 mmscfd 20 barrels of water per day. The vessel is also designed with the storage capacity of 630,000 barrels of processed oil.

Ratu Nusantara used to be a tanker called Scorpius, built in 1994. It was owned by Keppel Corporation and taken over in the last quarter of 2013. It took around 16 months to convert the tanker vessel into an FPSO.

Petronas Carigali Ketapang Ltd, as the operator of Bukit Tua field, leases the FPSO from PT M3 Ketapang Sejahtera, which is a joint venture between M3nergy of Malaysia and PT Transamudra Usaha Sejahtera of Indonesia under a contract of five years. The contract can extended twice for one year each.

Ketapang PSC is 80 percent owned by Petronas and 20 percent by PT Saka Ketapang Perdana, a subsidiary of PT Saka Energy, the upstream unit of state owned gas distributor PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN).
