The mooring lines of a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel at the Langsa block in Aceh Province operated by upstream company PT Pertamina EP (PEP) had been recently cut off due to bad weather, according to a senior official of the company.

?The mooring lines were cut off on Thursday due to bad weather,? said PEP President Director Nanang Abul Manaf to Petromindo.com last week, adding repair work was in progress.

Arief Handoyo, Secretary of upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas, confirmed the incident, but dismissed reports that the FPSO had drifted to the Lhokseumawe waters. ?The FPSO did not drift to the Lhokseumawe waters but is still at the location with only two mooring lines remaining. Six mooring lines were cut off. There are three AHTS (vessels) ready for support if the (remaining lines) were cut off,? he said.
