FPU Joko Tole for Terang Sirasun Batur fields completed

Upstream authority BPMIGAS Chairman R. Priyono on Saturday witnessed a ceremony marking the completion of the much-waited conversion of Floating Production Unit (FPU) Joko Tole at Sembawang Shipyard in Singapore.
The FPU will be deployed to support the production of Terang, Sirasun and Batur (TSB) fields within Kangean Block in offshore East Java.
The ceremony was also attended by President and General Manager of Kangean, Junichi Matsumoto, Managing Director of Sembawang P. K. Ong and CEO of BW Offshore, Carl Arnet.
The FPU is designed to process 340 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) of gas from the TSB gas fields in the Kangean Block, operated by Kangean Energy Indonesia (KEI).
The TSB fields are being developed with planned peak production of 300 mmscfd.
The FPU, owned by Norway?s BW Offshore Ltd, will sail to East Java immediately after the ceremony.
The gas will be delivered from the FPU through the existing 28? subsea pipeline extending some 350 km from the tie in point to the East Java gas receiving facilities and distributed to various gas buyers in East Java.
Priyono said the TSB fields are scheduled to begin production in June 2012 with peak production expected to reach 315 mmscfd. He said the gas production from the fields is vital as it will boost national gas production while helping meet growing demands for gas in East Java area.
The buyers of the gas from the TSB fields are state electricity company PT PLN with a volume of 130 mmscfd, PT Petrokimia Gresik at 65 mmscfd, Pertagas at 100 mmsfd and Indogas at 20 mmscfd.
BPMIGAS said the TSB project is part of 15 major oil and gas projects to begin operating this year with combined production of 1,158 mmscfd and 35,200 barrels of oil per day.
