Freeport Indonesia has new president director

PT Freeport Indonesia (PT-FI) announced on Wednesday that Maroef Sjamsoeddin will be named as the company?s President Director following the recently announced retirement of Rozik B. Soetjipto.

Maroef joins PT-FI following a successful long-term career of service to the Republic of Indonesia. He is a retired Air Vice Marshal of the Indonesian Air Force and has served as the Vice Chief of the Indonesian State Intelligence Agency (2011-2014). He received a Master of Business Administration from the Jakarta Institute Management Studies.

Rozik commented, ?I am proud of the many accomplishments of the PT-FI organization in developing the Grasberg operation to achieve world class status. I wish Bapak Maroef and our committed and talented management team and workforce continued success in the future.?

Maroef commented, ?I look forward to this opportunity to lead the PT-FI organization and work with the company?s stakeholders as PTFI seeks to execute its long-term investment strategy in Papua. This is an exciting time for PT-FI as we build new mines in Papua which will provide benefits to our employees, the local community, the Government of Indonesia and all stakeholders for decades to come.?
