Freeport-McMoRan adds new director

US based Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. announced the election of Steven J. Green, Former United States Ambassador to the Republic of Singapore, to its Board of Directors.
Green, age 56, is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Greenstreet Partners, a private merchant bank, and Auburndale Properties, a real estate acquisition and management company. He served as United States Ambassador to the Republic of Singapore from 1997 to 2001.
Freeport had a huge gold and copper mining operations in Irian Jaya and operates copper smelter in Indonesia and Spain. (alex)
