Freeport pays obligation $434 million in Q3

The total amount includes $333 million in corporate rate tax income, employee income tax, local taxes and other taxes, $49 million in royalties and $52 million in dividends.
Freeport said it had paid a total of $1.4 billion to the government in the first nine months of this year, which comprises $1 billion in corporate income tax, regional taxes and other taxes, $141 million in royalties and $216 million in dividends.
The obligation paid until September are higher compared to the same period of last year, which stood at $1.1 billion.
The company said the amount fluctuated due to changes in sales, commodity prices and metal production levels.
From 1992 to the end of September this year, Freeport has paid a total of $6.5 billion in taxes and other obligations to government. (*)
