Freeport top officials meet with govt in the wake of mine incident

President and CEO, Freeport-McMorant Copper & Gold Inc., Richard C Adkerson and President Director, PT Feeport Indonesia, Rozik B Soetjipto on Wednesday met with Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Jero Wacik at the latter's office to report the mine incident and discuss the compensation to the victims.
Richard said that Freeport was committed to take responsibility on the incident and agreed with the compensation discussed in the meeting.
Minister Jero told a press conference after the meeting that the compensation includes financial aids and scholarships for the children of the casualties which would be provided up through the level of university.
