French and British investors mull investing in RI power sector

The French and British investors have expressed their interest in investing in the Indonesian power sector because they consider the business prospects are good for investing in the long term, the Bisnis Indonesia newspaper reported in its Tuesday edition.
Yoga Pratama, the director general of electricity and energy usage at the ministry of energy and mineral resources, said the investors from both countries have already conveyed their interest to the Indonesian government during a road show to Britain recently.
“They (investors) are interested in investing in the power sector and enthusiastic in asking about the condition of Indonesian power sector, Yoga told the Bisnis in Jakarta on Monday.
During the meeting in Britain, the investors had sought explanation from the government regarding political stability and development plans in the power sector, Yoga said.
He said the French and British investors see the stability as key condition for the investing in Indonesia. Moreover, they also asked about the government guarantee for their investment in the power sector. (*)
