Oil tanker company Frontline Ltd., which bought two giant tankers from the state-owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina, has refused to attend a hearing to examine possible violation of law in the deal.

The Business Competition Supervisory Committee (KPPU) summoned the firm for a hearing to see if it had violated he Anti-Monopoly and Unhealthy Competition Law, the Koran Tempo newspaper reported in its Wednesday edition.

?Frontline refused to come because it didn?t accept Indonesian laws,? KPPU?s investigating team chairman Pande Radja Silalahi said on Tuesday in his office in Jakarta.

Pande regretted Frontline?s decision because it would affect KPPU?s final report on the investigation.

Frontline only gave written replies to KPPU?s questions but the answers were not satisfactory, according to Pande (*)
