FS for NTT tidal power project to be completed soon

Dutch firm Tidal Bridge BV is expected to complete feasibility study (FS) for a proposed tidal power plant project at Gonzalo Strait, in Larantuka, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province, at the end of October of this year.
?The FS will be completed end of this month,? said Maritje Hutapea, Director for Miscellaneous Renewable Energy at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources last week to Petromindo.com.
According to Tidal Bridge, the tidal power potential in the area is estimated at 300 MW. The company plans to initially develop a 20 MW tidal power plant in the area. The turbines will be installed on an 800-meter bridge linking Flores and Adonara Island.
Based on recent negotiations with the ministry, the electricity tariff from the planned power project has been set at 7.18 US cents per kWh.
